How to Post Messages on Yahoo! Groups

The purpose of this guide is to walk you through the neccessary steps required to sign up for a Yahoo! account, post messages on the Yahoo! Groups, and how to manage your group emails.

  1. Open a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

  2. Enter " http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups " into the address bar.

    Hint: the address bar is at the top of the browser and will most likely look like this:

  3. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password in the boxes provided.

    If you don't have a Yahoo! ID, there is a Sign Up link underneath the login section.

  4. If you have not joined any groups yet, you will most likely be greeted with the following screen:

  5. Click on the "Membership Wizard" link.

  6. In order for the Membership Wizard to work, you have to verify your email if you haven't already. If you have not verified your email, the following screen will show up:

    To verify your email for Yahoo! groups, check the email that you used to create your Yahoo! ID. If there isn't a Yahoo! confirmation email in your inbox, click the "Click here to verify" link; it will send you a new confirmation email.

  7. After you have confirmed your email address, click the little continue button box on the next screen, which will look like this:

  8. You will be presented with the following screen:

    From there, click the Continue Button button.

  9. Congratulations! You've reached the groups screen, which looks like this:

    This screen displays the groups that you're a member of, the Yahoo! ID assigned to each group, email, and how you receive your messages.

  10. To edit your groups and how you receive emails, click where it says Edit My Groups and you will be presented with this screen:

    1. A note about the Message Delivery options:

      1. The "Individual Emails" option will send a copy of each message posted to the group to your inbox

      2. The "Daily Digest" option sends you a single email containing all the messages posted to the group during that day

      3. The "Special Notices" option only sends you an email when something outside of the day-to-day discussion happens on the group

      4. The "No Email" option doesn't send you any email, so you must go to the group's page to view the messages

    2. No matter what you do on this screen, don't forget to hit the Save Changes Button button when you're done making changes

  11. To post a message on a group, go back to the View Groups screen and click on the name of the group in the left-hand column that you wish to post to.

  12. The following represents the hypnotherapists-5-n-7th-path group home screen:

    Click on the Post link which is located in the colored box on the left.

  13. The next screen will look like this:

    All you have to do is type in what you want to post and hit Send Button! Don't forget a subject!
